The Pyongyang Institute of Health Sciences is  among the latest initiatives the ISR Foundation has launched to provide  sustainable training program to healthcare professionals of Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and other infectious disease in DPRK.

In collaboration with UNICEF, World Health  Organization and leading health NGOs in North America and Europe, leading scholars of medicine and public  health provide pro bono research and development support for controlling and preventing TB and Hepatitis and  training of DPRK doctors across the nation. Interdisciplinary research teams  across the Atlantic and the Pacific focus on researching and treating  patients with multidrug-resistant TB and pediatric TB, the two areas UNICEF  and WHO assessed as the critical gap to fill.
